Looking for a Good Turn?
Summer camping is nearing. I’m writing to ask that everyone who has any connections, or is willing to try making connections, get a copy of the 2007 Scout Camp Calling Protocol (SCCP) into the hands of the appropriate people in your Council and ask that the Protocol be published in Council newsletters/newspapers/magazines prior to summer camp. Ask that it be published in summer camp leader manuals/resource books. Get it on the Council web site (especially for summer camp info). Distribute it to local amateur radio clubs and ask them to publish in their newsletters and/or their web sites.
So, where do you find the SCCP?
First, look at the discussion group that made this email available to you: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ScoutRadio/
Second, after you’re logged on, click on the “Files” link in the left hand table.
Next, click on the “SCCP” folder and then open or download the file “the 2007 scout camp calling protocol.rtf”
There’s another document in the files section in PowerPoint that is useful once you understand the basics of SCCP. It’s the “Scout Camp Calling Procedure (SCCP).ppt. You’ll find it toward the bottom of the files list.
Please don’t assume the other person will do any of this ... duplication won’t hurt ... it may actually get some Council folks to do something with the SCCP.
... and then, do your duty to do your best ... to get on the air to help scout camps with contacts this summer.
Thank you (in advance) for your efforts. Please report successes via this group.
