Re: [Scoutradio] Link to the files?
- Hi Jean. The owner of the ScoutRadio Email Group is Neal, W4NHL.Yahoo made some changes in file viewing capabilities http://help.yahoo.com/groups/groups-56.html a few months back. There was a time when the files area could be left open for viewing by non members but that is no longer the case. The ability to read email message "archives" is probably one of the few areas left available for non-members to peruse. Neal and I discussed whether or not to close the archives from public view, some months ago. Since we've not had problems associated with this feature and the fact that we believe it to be an incentive to join - we've left it that way.The maker of the files that you are referencing to is Gary Wilson - K2GW (files listed under Yahoo ID "WB2BOO") and he can be contacted at k2gw@...While I could quickly make up a web page to secure these documents for viewing, you may be able to work something out with Gary where the ARRL stores the files he gets the author's credit. Thanks for all that you're doing for Scouting and Amateur Radio. One hand seems to wash the other.Oh and thanks for thinking about the ScoutRadio group. We work hard to filter spammers, potential spammers and other undesirable influences from this group's inhabitants - some of which have been here with us since early 1999.YISJon Pearl - W4ABC----- Original Message -----From: JeanSent: Wednesday, November 12, 2003 10:53 AMSubject: [Scoutradio] Link to the files?I'm not sure who to ask, but I would like permission to link from the
ARRL web site (scout area) to the "files" in this group. I'm
especially interested in the Radio Merit Badge slide show.
I know I can just link it, but I'd rather get the permission!
By the way, if you haven't completed your ARRL JOTA 2003
report/survey at http://www.arrl.org/FandES/ead/jotalog/ yet. Please
do so. By completing the report/survey you will show your support
and desire to see more youth active in ham radio.
Thanks, Jean WB3IOS
