      Carol,

      Take a look at Rule 180 in Morson’s. It makes me think that the preference might be for the numerals.

      Subject: [ScopingBuddies] Number help

      Hi, everyone.

      I'm needing to know if my assumption on capping is correct.

      When a date is referred to in running text and the month is not used;
      i.e., the ninth, would that be spelled out as I have it? Or should it
      be the number with ordnals, such as: 9th?

      I've looked through Gregg and Morson's and can't seem to pin this one
      down.

      Thanks!

      Carol
