There's no hike scheduled for Saturday - maybe someone would like to sort
one out - but a few of us who did today's hike decided to set up a good long
one for next FRIDAY so the plan is to meet before 10:00am at Wong Tai Sin
MTR, exit A, and form some sort of consensus on how to get up to Tate's
Cairn before we leg it over to Sai Kung. Sometimes this entails getting a
taxi up...but some of us were talking about a stiff uphill winter warmer.
So the hike may be quite strenuous!!!
Then we go over via the Buffalo Pass. Hardy folks can do it the tough way
(Susie says she lost the cup off her thermo there a year ago and wants us
all to help look for it), but there is an easier route via the pass, but if
the weather is anything like today you will get cold waiting for the pack to
catch up. Optional num nums in Sai Kung of course. Five hours hike prolly.
Please bring a full set of waterproofs and warm clothing, ample water and
To those with local family commitments - wishing you and yours a Very Happy
and Healthy New Year.
