Do you care about peace and justice? Do you want to make a positive difference in your community? Well come out and celebrate with others
who feel the same way.
Friday, April 9th the and Action Center will be hosting a Peace Café to kickoff
their second annual Teach Peace Conference. No boring keynote address here, instead an evening devoted to building
relationships and sharing good things that are taking place in our schools. Participants will learn more about Peace Jam, Unity Days, Racism
Healing Circles, and SoulSpeak through interactive activities. Plus they'll see a sneak preview of the Booker High School musical
Side Show, participate in a music jam and dances of Universal Peace.
The Peace Café is free and open to the public, but advance registration is requested.

All Day -- Weaving a Sculpture of Peace Collaborative Art Project
We will provide the framework and supplies to create an enlarged version
of the letters in the "peace" to serve as a 3-dimensional topiary word.
Vine sculpture recycles natural materials in simple and fun activity.
Instructions and guidance will be available, during the 2nd annual
Teach Peace Conference, but anyone can be an artist when working
with this medium known as "grape arbor vine." Joining in the project
is free and open to the public.
