Group Description

***** ***** ***** PLEASE READ ***** ***** *****

This group is for parents of children with autism and special needs in the Santa Maria area. We only allow parents and caregivers on this board. Please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns and ideas regarding special education issues, regional center issues, or issues with your child.

Brag about your child's accomplishments, big and small. We can all appreciate even the smallest steps and know how fun it is to share achievements with people who understand. Vent away if something is bothering you, if we can't help, we can at least listen. No one here will be judgemental. We've all been pushed to the limits at one time or another and understand. If we can help, EVEN BETTER!

This is an independent listserve that has no affiliation with any group. However, the Autism Society of Santa Barbara website is www.asasb.org. One of our Members, Candyce Estave is the North County Chair for ASASB and will be happy to help you in applying for membership. ASASB is making local area trainings possible, and they deserve our support.

Finally, some posting info for those new to this format. Members will treat each other with respect and standard rules of posting etiquette will be adhered to.

1. Erase the message you are responding to so that those receiving a daily digest don't have to read through emails repeatedly. If you want to respond to something specifically in someone's email you can cut and paste that part and put it in your new email.

2. Make sure your Subject relates to the content of your email.

3. If it would be better served to respond to someone offlist, do that instead of responding to the list.

4. New members please introduce yourself
