URGENT.... CAN YOU HELP
Friends of Israel, we need your help right now.
Please read the information below.
You will see the efforts on the part of the "other side" to support the divestment initiative
by the Presbyterian church.
We need you to write KIND, EDUCATIONAL letters to the Presbyterian leadership below...
You do not want to inflame the situation... you want to EXPLAIN Israel's position...talk about the terrorism, and that there was no fence prior to this war of terrorism against Israel.
Explain that the fence is not something that Israel would have wanted to build.
But the two sides need to be separated and the statistics show that the violence is DOWN now. The fence is working.
Far less people are dying. Suicide bombing is down, thank G-d, by 90%.
The StandWithUs office (staff and volunteers) has been making calls all week to Presbyterian leadership, and in fact, FINDING FRIENDS who disagree with the national decision to divest from companies who sell to Israel.
So be careful..... do not assume that all Presbyterian leadership is alligned with the decision to divest......... help us find more friends in the Presbyterian community.
Send any LEADS of Presbyterian FRIENDS...., ANYWHERE in the country to: Jonah@...
Please read this below... and you will understand how very important it is for you to help us with this effort now. Please do what you can.
Special thanks to Allyson Taylor.

FROM THE OTHER SIDE...
FROM THE OTHER SIDE.....
We have all heard the great news that the Presbyterian Church has
declared Israel an apartheid state and voted to stop investing in
Israel. In a message originally sent by IAP NEWS it was reported that
the vote was the huge majority of 431-62 taken during the first week of
July at the 216th annual General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church
They are now under heavy Zionist attack by letter, telephone, fax, and
and email. See their press release below. It is worth reading.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send them an email of support. The fledgling
divestment movement must grow. Even a one sentence email such as
"Thank you for your decision to divest from Israel." would be great.
Just click on the web addresses below and write what your heart tells
PLEASE DO IT
Your message would go directly to the

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF THE USA
Here is a press release from them:
The Presbyterian Center in Louisville
continued to be inundated with
letters this week protesting the 216th General Assembly's decision July
2 to initiate a process of selective, phased divestment from
multinational corporations doing business in Israel.
Jewish leaders and groups continued to criticize the Presbyterian
Church (USA) for taking actions it says are anti-Israel and
anti-Semitic and which ignore the violence perpetrated by Palestinians
in the region. Interfaith relations officer Jay Rock of the Worldwide
Ministries Division spent much of the week in New York, conferring with
various Jewish groups.
Victor Makari, area coordinator for the Middle East, also spent much of
the week explaining the PC(USA)'s position on the Israel-Palestine
conflict and the actions taken by the General Assembly.
Meanwhile, the Rev. Bill Somplatsky-Jarman, coordinator for Mission
Investment, began the painstaking work of
researching PC(USA) policy on the Middle East and various corporate
ties between multinational corporations and the Israeli government in
order to prepare the specific divestment strategy called for by the
Assembly. He said the divestment process, which usually involves
dialogue with offending companies before any stock-selling occurs, will
probably initially focus on Caterpillar, the machinery giant that sells
bulldozers to the Israeli Defense Forces. That process will be
developed at a meeting of MRTI in New York in early November.
