If you're a songwriter or writer/artist who would like to have your music recorded in the major-label Country market, these workshops can help you learn from and be heard by succesfull Nashville publishers. These three-day events are held in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe.

For the next workshop, Feb 25 - 27, you need to apply by Mon Jan 18. Sixteen writers will be selected to present songs. There will be three listening sessions, each attended by two publishers, where the sixteen writers each play a song and the group listens to the publishers give feedback on the craft and commercial potential of the writing.

This process gives you a chance to catch the attention of successful publishers who can sign staff writers and who regularly get cuts by top Country artists. You can read their bios on www.barbaracloyd.com .They are not paid to attend - they come because they are genuinely interested in discovering new talent to nurture.

In addition, there will be a class examining hit songs that helps identify the main characteristics common to commercially successful Country songs, a chance to play at a local music venue, and a show with hit writers at The Bluebird Cafe.

Writers who are not selected to present songs are still welcome to attend to network and learn.
