Group Description

The San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society was formed by a group of rockhounds that are based in or around Bakersfield who enjoy all phases of lapidary and have a love for the great out doors and going on field trips. On June 11,2005 The San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society was formed and became part of the California Federation Of Mineralogical Societies Inc.
Annual membership dues are $25.00 per person or $35.00 per family per year Our meetings consist of a general meeting and then either a demonstration ,lecturer or work shop. We try to do a monthly field trips .We are also members of the Southern CA C.F.M.S. field trip Co-op Which consists of 5 clubs members of the C.F.M.S..Each club is responsible for holding a field trip.You do not have to be a member of San Joaquin Valley lapidary Society to be a member of Sothern San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society Yahoo Group. This list is for discussions and is open to anyone. Most field trips are open to anyone with the signature of a release of liability.Some trips are only to club members.
