  • Kentucky Warbler details

To clarify, now that I have my glasses on as I type. PLNU is Point Loma Nazarene University. To find the Warbler, enter at the most western end of Garden Lane

  • Kentucky Warbler is back at PLNU

The Kentucky Warbler is still here at PLNU. It is at farthest NW end of cement culvert feeding on the plateau between the culvert and upper parking lot. Chips

Group Description

San Diego Region Birding is the official Rare Bird Alert (RBA) and birding discussion group for the San Diego region run by San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO).

San Diego Field Ornithologists is a non-profit organization that promotes the advancement of field ornithology (birding) through educational programs, publication of information, and the encouragement of record keeping.

All those with an interest in birding in San Diego County are encouraged to join this e-mail alert and discussion group. We encourage posting information about current rare and otherwise unusual birds, links to photos of such rarities, migration news, information on population trends and historical records, birding locations, and local bird-watching activities (including field trips, pelagic trips and trip reports, and birding festivals), all from within San Diego County. Please include date of sightings and sign your messages with your full name and your city.

Meetings: SDFO holds meetings at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at The San Diego Foundation, 2508 Historic Decatur Rd., San Diego, California. On arrival please enter first floor to the Hoffman Room. Join us as a guest for a meeting or two, meet other members, and listen to guest speakers. We encourage you to join SDFO for only $25 a year. Please email Dave Povey or Justyn Stahl for more information (see below).

Resources:Local organizations with an interest in birds include the National Audubon Society - San Diego Audubon (San Diego), Buena Vista Audubon (Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista), and Palomar Audubon (Escondido). Pelagic birding trips and past trip reports can be found at SoCalBirding.

Dave Povey, President SDFO (dpovey@nethere.com)
