I am the compiler for the Apalachicola Christmas Bird Count, and I am looking for people that would like to participate in this year’s count on December 28th. The count includes such interesting areas as St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, Little St. George Island, the city of Apalachicola and the Apalachicola Bay . Past counts have produced 130 to 140 species and many interesting rarities. Birders of all levels are needed. Spotters and data recorders are most needed, but at least one leader quality birder is needed to help with Little St. George. Boat transportation to the islands and for birding the Bay and Gulf will be provided by the Apalachicola Research Reserve and St. Vincent NWR. If you are interested in participating, please contact me at Alan.Knothe@....
