      Hi Jeff,

You are in luck as there is going to be a STREND on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay on July 27. It sounds like you are in great shape. we are a small but dedicated group. I having been doing STENDs now for about 15 years and will turn 60 in a month. STREND is a great way to train.....quick and right to the point. Best way to train for a competition is to do lots and lots of practice STRENDs as your muscles need to get use to the transition from lift to lift to run.

Contact Mark Lundin ghillie8@...<mailto:ghillie8@...> and he will put you on the list for the Treasure Island STREND. All competitors are welcome.

We also have a STREND facebook page with some pictures posted. https://www.facebook.com/groups/131814713506556/<https://www.facebook.com/groups/131814713506556/>

Look forward to meeting you. You will enjoy meeting Ed. He is a heck of an athlete.

Sounds like you are from Amarillo. I lived in Midland 11 years before moving to the Denver area 25 years ago.

All the best, and thank you for your service.

My name is Jeff Forker, Jeffrey Armadillo Mother Forker to my friends.
I am former Special Forces, 1st, 5th and 12th Gps; SFQC Class 1-83.
I read about Ed and STREND in the recent ITS interview.
I have never competed in a STREND event, never even heard of STREND before this past week. But the name Ed Bugarin sounds familiar.
I am 51 and have stayed relatively fit, through lifting and running and martial arts and mountaineering. I was a GORUCK cadre for a short time.
I am interested in doing a STREND Challenge, but not likely to make it over to Hawaii for one. And there dont seem to be many here, CONUS. Am also interested in learning what it would take to get one scheduled here in KC.

Incidentally, I got a former SF bud, who I was at 5th Gp with, in his 40s, over on Oahu who is into fitness and should know about this and knows a bunch of people who might be into this. He does real estate but used to be a trainer.

And Kurt Weber says "Hello." He was with Ed at C-1-1. He said to pass on to Ed: "Tell him the guys from C/1-1 are still thankful for everything he did for us."
