      Ma`rat Saydnaya, Damascus. His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I
      consecrated four metropolitans for the Malankara Church at the Sts. Peter &
      Paul's Patriarchal Cathedral at Ma'arat Saydnaya, Damascus today, assisted
      by the Catholicos H.B. Mor Baselius Thomas I and other metropolitans of the
      Syriac Orthodox Church in the Middle East and in Malankara. Rabban
      Geevarghese Raban Karimbil was consecrated Mor Divanasios Gewargis for the
      Ankamaly diocese, Rabban John Elavinammannil as Mor Milithious Yuhanon for
      Niranam, Thumpamon & Kollam diocese, Rabban Kurian John Ponnakuzhy as Mor
      Diascoros Kuriakose for the Kandanad diocese, and Rabban Gewargis Eralil as
      Mor Athanasios Gewargis for the Trichur diocese. All bishops have been
      appointed as assistants to the Catholicos in the respective dioceses. Their
      Eminences Mor Yulius Kuriakose, First Secretary to His Holiness, Mor
      Gregorios Joseph, Secretary of the Malankara Synod, Mor Philoxinos Matta
      Shem`un, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Institutes in Lebanon, Mor
      Severios Saka, Patriarchal Vicar for higher Syriac Studies, Mor Theophilos
      George Saliba of Mount Lebanon, Mor Ostatheos Matta Roham of Jazira &
      Euphrates, Mor Severios Mourad of Jordan & Jerusalem, Mor Silvanos Boutros
      of Homs & Hama, Mor Severios Saliba of Zahle & Bekaa, and Mor Ivannis
      Poulos, Patriarchal Vicar of Damascus assisted His Holiness in the
      consecration ceremonies. Ministers and representatives of the Syrian
      Republic government, monks and priests including Chorepiscopus Sleeba
      Kattumangattu from Malankara, deacons, nuns and faithful witnessed the
      consecration.
