THE SYRIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN INDIA AND ITS APOSTOLIC FAITH

Moran Ignatius Abdullah II Patriarch of Antioch passed away on 26th Vrischikom1915 and was interred in the St Marks Sehion Church, Jerusalem-the first Christian Church in Christendom.

No records regarding the New Dignitary Catholicos are extant. After a span of merely 7 months he passed away on 20th Meedom 1913 at Cheria Pally, Pampakuda.

Here are a few more facts..

In the church calendar printed and published by Karuchira Geevarghese Remban (afterward the 2nd Catholicos of the Devalokam faction) on 30 Dhanu, 1907 says, " His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Abde daloho (Abdullah) who was enthroned on the Apostolic Throne of Antioch on 15 Chingam 1906 is ruling over the church".

In the registered document submitted by Augen Remban (he was in the Patriarchate when the excommunication of Abdul Massih took place) before the Patriarch Moran Mor Elias III on 5th may 1927 at the time of his consecration (by the latter) as Metrapolitan of the Kandanad Diocese says " I confess that Abdul Massih who had been brought to Malabar in 1086 M E by the " excommunicated Geevarghese Dionysius" and others had been deposed by the Universal Synod under the Holy See in 1905 and I abjure him".

Note: Vattasseril Dionysius was consecrated bishop by none other than the Patriarch Abdullah in 1908.

Note: However Mor Abdul Massih need not be blamed for the unlawful and uncanonical actions in Malankara rather its the Vattasseril group supported by Manorama, the influential southern lobby who was the manipulator and the one solely responsible for all this unholy developments The reader may ponder over a while that if matters had been in the normal way, no mention of Abdul Massih would have come to the front " Necessity is the mother of invention".
