Re: St. Mary's Denver Consecration
- It is a very good thing that His Eminence cleared up the whole situation
that happened at the Denver Church consecration. Many people were
misconstrued about the whole situation. Thirumeni politely told them
that they must step off the altar. Thirumeni should have not been put
in this situation first of all.
Whoever invited these Indian Orthodox priest who were excommunicated
from the church, should have asked Tithos Thirumeni about inviting them
because of the possible problems that would have risen....and which arose.
Another thing that could have been done is, that when they invited the
priests, they could have mentioned to them before coming to the church
that there is a certain situation in which they are not allowed to get
into the altar and that they would have to stand below.
The idea was good that the church invited groups from other christian
denominations but some thought should have been put about the possible
problems that occured or would have oocurred. I heard St. Mary's is a
church made up of members from other christian denominations because there
are no other churches for their convenience. Many seem dissappointed over
this issue and its great that Thirumeni cleared up the points because many
were getting the wrong information here and other areas.
We as a Syrian Christian Church under H.H. have to out and be with caution
so future situations do not arise like these so certain people can take
advantage of them.
