Are you Born Again? Part 4
- Opponents of Child Baptism and Proponents of Adult Choice.
I agree their idea that a baby is not old enough to accept
Jesus on his own. But the baby is not old enough to reject
Him either. Based on the former idea I have some suggestions.
See how you would like them.
From now onwards all babies born should be kept in a secluded
cell(free from all out side influence) until they become thirty
years of age, the age at which Jesus received baptism from John.
(That would be another subject discussed in detail because Jesus'
baptism is not the same as the Christian baptism.). Allow them
to choose on their own. But remember do not corrupt them with
your ideas and teachings. Do not feed them with your food from
breast milk onwards. Do not bathe. Do not clothe. Do not medicate.
Do not give light. Do not educate any language. Do not allow
them to see or interact with adults for they may copy you. No
external influences of any kind. No suggestions of any kind.
How do you know any of these are good for them? What if they
later accuse you of providing them something, which they did
not choose? At the age of thirty open the cage and set them
free. And that too is not right, because you locked them up.
Let them make their own decisions and go forward, backward,
sideward, upward, downward, no ward, yes ward or where ever
ward of their choice. A very good practical idea, right?
This perverted thinking defeats all kinds of organized activities.
Why do you need a government? A school to teach? A preacher? An
advisor? A police? A soldier? A Church? A club? A pastor? Any
charity work? A hospital? A family? A marriage? And so on and on.
Nobody should tell anybody anything. Let them think and choose.
Otherwise you are influencing the baby on the decision making
process. You should not take the babies or children or anyone to
your place of worship because you are influencing them. You don't
even need a gathering place to worship or any social, cultural,
civic, activities. What is the need of a pastor? You can pray
on your own.
It is the primary responsibility of the parents, the adults
and the society at large to provide everything that they can
for the betterment of the new comers until they are old and
knowledgeable enough to make their choice. That includes
religion. No babies are ordained or married in the Church.
All adult Orthodox faithful are staying in this faith on their
