The Kerala Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy paid a visit to Bahrain St. Peter's JSO Church on Friday, 28th June at around 9.45 am. A public reception meeting was arranged after the Holy Qurbana to welcome the Honorable Chief Minister and the Overseas Affairs Minister Shri K. C. Joseph. Shri Oommen Chandy was accompanied by his family members as well.
The Vicar Fr. Benny Abraham and Fr. Monai Philip, Vicar of Bahrain St. Gregorios Knanaya Church felicitated the guests. In his reply speech, the Chief Minister remembered his previous visit to the Church in 2002 and thanked the Government for allowing the expatriates to worship freely in the Kingdom. The Hon. Minister K.C. Joseph also said that it is the duty of the expatriate community to live in Bahrain as law abiding community, to reflect the Indian culture. The Secretary Mr. Shaj Babu welcomed the guests and the Vice President Mr. Paul Varghese proposed the vote of thanks.
