Rferendum conducted by the court appointed advocates in parish churches.
- Dear Moderator,
In this site so many people are asking about any referendum conducted by the court appointed advocates in parish churches. The first one was in Mulanthuruthy Marthoman cathedral in 1984. That time the cathedral was closed. The hon. high court appointed advocate to conduct referendum and he prepared the parish register, voters list etc and on that basis ballot papers issued and the parishioners voted. From that referendum the court found that less than 1/5 th of the parishners belongs to the catholicose group. That is the reason why they got time to offer mass only on the 5 th sunday and that also from saturday evening to sunday noon only and only one mass and they have no right to use the church for any other purpose. They don"t have the right even to conduct a rasa_ pradakshnam around the church AND NO RIGHT TO USE THE CHURCH ARTICLES, CHURCH BUILDING ETC.The administration and the ownership of the church was given to the majority parishners. No court in India stayed or cancelled this order till this date. Why can"t we argue for this type of an election to kolencherry church in high court?
