Nine Virtues of wisdom that is from above
- Nine Virtues of wisdom that is from above
Ja. 3:17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
Ja. 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. [We may ask the Lord for wisdom in general, and for particular situations, difficulties and decisions including small things. Our God helps us in small things as in great matters – all to His glory.]
Ja. 3:13: Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. meekness of wisdom = humility which is the proper attribute of true wisdom, The Amplified Bible]
When we are in Christ, He is our wisdom, 1 Cor. 1:30: But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Lord, let me always look to you as my wisdom. Amen.
Prov. 2:1-5 shows how we may pray for wisdom: My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. [fear of the LORD + knowledge of God = wisdom + understanding]
Thankful for your prayers,
