      New Delhi: Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese joined the hunger strike and Parliament March, jointly organized by the National Council of Churches in India and the Catholic Bishops Conference of India at Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi on Thursday 28 July 2011. Around ten thousand people participated in the March. The March and the hunger strike were organized to demand the rights of reservation for Christians and Muslims of Dalit background. Around 35 bishops from various churches led the March. Several political leaders such as Ms. Brinda Karat, Mr. D. Raja, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan etc also addressed the gathering. A delegation that included Mor Coorilos also visited the Parliamentary Affairs Minister and represented the concerns with Mr. Bansal.
