      To Die Like Christ Died

If we would come to God we should come to Christ, and if we should experience Christ we should remember Him in His death. How was Christ when He was dying? How was He when He was preparing to die? How does His death help me and save me today?

The Lord will teach us if we take time to remember Jesus in his death. God will bring us to the point where we realize that what concerns us most in this life is how God loved us in Christ. This love was demonstrated when He gave the communion and said I want to show you my love to the end and to the highest degree, (John 13:1) and broke the bread (representing His body that would be broken) and gave the cup (representing His blood that would be shed), and washed their feet. His death on the cross followed the next day as the ultimate expression of His love for us.

The meaning of this for us today is: Love God with all your heart and love one another with the same love. It is only in that confession and appropriating that by remembering the death of Christ, that we will understand life and understand death. This is great wisdom. To understand life is great wisdom, to understand death is great wisdom. Many of us will spend a lot of time in studying spiritual things. There are many books, many ideas, so much. but the sooner we have the wisdom to say Lord, I want to come to you, I want to come to your death, to the love revealed in your death, the sooner the door will open for you, little by little in the beginning, and then to an ever-increasing measure of revelation of God's love.
