Spiritual Transfiguration in Mission and Practice

For the feast of Transfiguration - a festival of the fullness of God - Fr John Brian preaches about the need for spiritual transfiguration in Orthodox mission and practice. This sermon speaks about how all Orthodox Christians can look forward to being with Jesus Christ on Mount Tabor. This Holy Transfiguration festival sermon is takes inspiration from the Transfiguration story in Luke chapter 9 and the Epistle reading from the end of Romans Chapter 11.

This sermon lesson uses the readings and services appointed from the Malankara Syrian lectionary and was given on Sunday, August 8, 2010 by Fr. John Brian Paprock at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Mission Chapel, Madison, Wisconsin.

"We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency may be of the power of God and not of us." 2 Corinthians 4:7.
