Concelebrated Divine Liturgy of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in the USA
NewJersey: The Annual Concelebrated Divine Liturgy of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in the USA took place at St.Mark's Syriac Orthodox Cathedral,Teaneck, NewJersey on June 12th, 2010. The Liturgy was celebrated this year according to the ancient rites of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church presided by His Eminence Archbishop Abuna Zecharias, primate of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Archdiocese of North-Eastern U.S.A.
H.E.Archbishop Khajag Barsamian(Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Orthodox Church in America),H.E. Archbishop Mor Titus Yeldho (Archbishop and Patriarchal Vicar of Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America), H.E. Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim Koorilos (Archbishop and Patriarchal Vicar of Syriac Orthodox Church-Archdiocese of Eastern USA),H.E.Archbishop Abuna Thaddaius( Ethiopian Orthodox Archbishop of Trinidad) and H.E. Archbishop Yeghishe Gizirian (Retired Armenian Archbishop) were the Hierarchs who participated in the Divine Liturgy . The Liturgy was served by several priests and deacons from the sister Oriental Orthodox Churches.
All the Clergy walked in a procession to the Church welcomed by the chanting and melodious music of Ethiopian Orthodox Church Choir. There was a great joy in the Church, especially after receiving the Holy Communion, which spread the feeling of oneness among the congregation beyond the limits of cultural and language diversity. The Holy Service lasted over three hours. H.E.Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim Koorilos thanked the Hierarchs, the clergy, parishioners and well wishers for their presence and participation in this Year's Concelebrated Holy Liturgy. After the conclusion of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist all participants were invited to a delicious Lunch provided by Ethiopian Church.
