      **Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church pays homage to Arch Bishop Dr. Daniel Acharuparampil**

      KOCHI: H.B Catholicose Dr. Baselios Thomas I, Holy Episcopal Synod Secretary Dr. H.G Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitans Their Graces Mor Dioscorus Kuriakose and Dr. Mor Clemis Kuriakose paid homage to Late Arch Bishop Dr. Daniel Acharuparampil at St. Francis Assissi Cathedral here on Oct 27, Tuesday on behalf of Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. The body will be kept at the Cathedral the whole day and the funeral is slated for Wednesday evening at 3.30.

      **70 year old bags First Rank in 7th Standard Equivalent Exam of Kerala Literacy Mission**

      KALPETTA, WAYANAD: 70 years old Saramma Plakkil secured First Rank in the 7th Standard Equivalent Exam conducted by the Kerala Literacy Mission, in Wayanad District. She was honoured by Hon'ble Education Minister of Kerala Sri. M. A Baby in a public function held at Town Hall, here. Saramma belongs to St. Mary's JSO Church, Cheengeri, Malabar and is an active member of Morth Mariyam Samajam.

      MEPRAL: Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese His Grace Dr. Mor Coorilos
      Geevarghese laid foundation stone for a shrine here, under the St. Johns JSO Church, Mepral, on Oct 18, Sunday. The shrine is dedicated to St. Gregorios Chathuruthil. Vicar Fr. Daniel M J, Fr. Mathew Philip, Dn. Philipose and many faithful were present.

      **K.M Varkey passed away in Al Ain**

      AL AIN: K.M Varkey passed away in Al Ain due to a severe heart failure. He was 56, and survived by wife Chinnamma Korah and daughters Jeni and Jinsi. He was an active member of Al Ain St. George JSO Simhasana Church and was the main organiser of the church. He belonged to Mor Kauma JSO Church, Vengoor.

        St. Paul's JSO Church, Pennsylvania consecrated

        PENNSYLVANIA: St. Paul's Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church was consecrated on May 28, 29 by Metropolitans Dr. Mor Severios Abraham
        (Ankamali), Mor Themotheos Thomas (Kottayam), Mor Milithios Yuhanon (Thumpamon) and Mor Theethoos Yeldho (North America). The church was established in the year 1999 and the new church was constructed under the able leadership of present vicar Fr. Joy John. Earlier on May 28, the metropolitans were welcomed at the church premises by the vicar and faithful.

H.B Catholicose Dr. Baselios Thomas I lead the Holy Penta Mass at the Cathedral. Metropolitans Their Graces Dr. Mor Severios Abraham, Dr. Mor Ivanios Mathews, Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose, Mor Athanasius Elias, Mor Aphrem Mathews, Mor Eusebios Kuriakose, Dr. Mor Clemis Kuriakose & Mor Philaxinos Zacharias assisted.

        Lots of priests and thousands of faithful attended the function
        The public meeting was inaugurated by H.B Catholicos Dr. Baselios Thomas I. Dr. Mor Severios Abraham presided over the function. Honourable Minister S. Sharma inaugurated the distribution of endowment. Mor Athanasius Elias, UDF convenor Commander P. P Thankachan, K. P Dhanapalan MP, Church Secretry Bar Etho M'hero Thampu George Thukalan, Block Panchayath President K. J Issac & Vicar of Catholic Church Rev Fr. Thomas Pynadath spoke during the occasion. Rev Fr Poulose Arakkaparambil, Vicar of the Cathedral, Rev Fr. Varghese V Areekkal, Jacob Kooren & T.I Elias Thombra coordinated the function.

        New regional council elected for the patriarchal vicariate of United Kingdom

        LONDON: A new regional council has elected for the patriarchal vicariate of UK at St Johns Church, Bethel Green, London. Patriarchal Vicar of United Kingdom H.G Dr. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese presided over the meeting. One representative from each church is included in
        the regional council which brought the council strength to 36.

        The new office bearers are,
        Rev. Fr Raju Cheruvallil (Clergy Secretary)
        Rev. Fr Geevarghese Thandayath (UK Regional Secretary)
        Mr. Raju Velamkala (Joint Secretary)
        Mr Gibi Andrews (Treasurer)

        Dr. Mor Coorilos has given the permission to select representatives to the regional council from the new congregations which are going to start in UK.

        It was also decided in the meeting, that the second UK regional family conference will be held on Sep 11 & 12 at St Ignatius Elias III JSO Church, Belfast. A joint meeting of the UK regional council and the Belfast church managing committee will be held on Jun 19 at the church to elect a governing body for the second UK regional family conference.

        World Christian Conference of Migrants in Denmark concluded
        Rev. Fr. Eldhose Vattaparambil represented Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church

        DENMARK: Three days longed World Christian Conference of Migrants in Denmark concluded on June 12, Saturday. The conference was conducted at Middlefart Hotel, Denmark. The conference was organised by National Council of Churches in Denmark. Delegates from 26 countries participated. Rev. Fr. Eldhose Vattaparambil represented Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church. The theme of this year's conference was 'Make Youngsters the believers of Christ'. National Council of Churches in Denmark was founded in 2004, as a merger of the Ecumenical Council of Denmark founded in 1939, and the Council of Danish Churches founded
        in 1991.
