- Mr. Cherian Abraham (Raju) B.A; B.Ed (73) father of Rev. Fr. Mathew Karimpanackal, M.Th (Vicar of St.Peter's & St.Paul's JSO Church, MATHIKERE, Bangalore) and Retd.Teacher of Cheenthalar High School, Pasuppara has entered his heavenly abode on 15 June 2008.
Funeral date and time not decided because of, pending arrival of relatives. It might be on 17 June Tuesday 2:00 PM at St. George Jacobite Syrain Orthodox Church, Cheppaud.
He was married to Late Mary M Mathew (Ammini), Mukkoottil, Kuzhikala,
Kozanchery (was teacher in Cheenthalar High School, Pasuppara).
He is survived by his Children, Jai Abe Cherian- Bangalore, Rev. Fr. Mathew Karimpanackal- Dayroyo, Jeena Anna Cherian. In-laws, Siju Idicula - Kallarackal Mavelikara, Dr.Ashok Thomas - Puthanpurakkal, Mavelikara.
Mr. Raju was an active member of the Church. He served the church as
Managing Committee member, Kottayam Diocese & Inspector of Malankara
Syrian Orthodox Church Sunday School Association(Kattappana District).
He was President of the Malanadu Service Coperative Bank Ltd.( From
1971 onwards), Managing committee memberof Institute of Co-operative
Management, Thiruvanathapuram & Kannur, Director of Idukki District
Cattle feed Manufacturing & Marketing Society Ltd., promoter & Executive Director of The Idukki District Cooperative Bank Ltd., ex-
Chairman of Peerumadu Circle Cooperative Union, ex-member of Upputhara Panchyathu.
Also, served as the executive member of DCC, Idukki & President/
director of different co-operative societies.
He visited Thailand, Philippines, Japan, South Korea & Hong Kong in
1984 for the study of Cooperative Sector in these countries, representing National Co-operative Union of India.
May God enable the departed soul to take rest in the laps of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob. Let us pray for the rest in peace of the departed
soul and also for the bereaved family.
