  • We stayed at the Tulip Inn in Prague. It was very nice and convenient to Old Town. The desk personnel spoke English and they could get you a cab at a reasonable rate. You can find it on Expedia. In Bratislava, we stayed at the Forum Hotel, which was a very nice hotel that has been converted to a Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, so it is rather pricey now. It was within walking distance of...

  • ----- Original Message ---- From: Karen C Since so many of you have travelled to the Czech Republic and Slovakia I was wondering if you could answer a few questions? Is there a problem with taking a rental car across the border from Czech Rep. to Slovakia? Yes, every rental I saw did not allow taking a car across borders. We're you required to buy the health travel insurance? No...

  • If you list the states alphabetically, including Hawaii but not Alaska, the numbers of each state would be what you have indicated. --- frank.r.plichta@^$1 wrote: > > > > The first numeric character refers to the State > where the registration took > place. • I put photos of a birth record from Bosany where the parents married a year after the child was born. The birth was in Feb 1895. The child was marked illeg in the second photo and the parents marriage is recorded in the third photo in Sep 1896. The child was apparently marked legitimata at that time. The folder is named Maria in the photo section. Tim Skvarenina --- Andrea Vangor...

  • I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that the observation of meghalt, 30 May 1886, indicates the child died the day after it was born. Are you sure you have the right record? • Hi, I uploaded a picture of a tombstone from Bosany. I am wondering if someone can tell me the meaning of the word "Dankomladsi" after the name Jozef Skvarenina. Is this all one name or does the added word mean something. I am particularly curious because one individual with my last name changed his last name to "Danko" in 1933. Thanks, Tim Skvarenina
