      The problem with learning Slovenc^ina (Slovak) or any foreign
      language)is not so much the word meanings as the elements of grammar.

      Even language PC programs and word translators require some knowledge
      of the language's grammar and structure in order to choose the
      correct meaning.

      For example, enter the word 'Polish' (referring to Poland) and you
      will get the equivalent verb 'polish' (to smooth and make glossy)

        I agree, knowledge of the language's grammar and structure is required to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas between languages. In evaluating translations of the same document from two different persons it became very clear that grammar was the major issue in their efforts.
