      Christopher,

Mongolian spots are flat bluish to bluish gray skin markings that
commonly appear at birth in Asian, Indian, and dark races.
They appear commonly at the base of the spine, on the buttocks and
back, and also can appear as high as the shoulders and elsewhere.
Mongolian spots are benign skin markings and are not associated with
      any conditions or illnesses.

Remember back in 1998 endless time was devoted and wasted with the
Mongols and Blue Spot issue at sk.talk.slovak-world newsgroup.
      Out damn spots.

Could never accept that Mongolian light cavalry under Genghis Khan
might want to cross the the Tatra Mts. for R & R in Slovakia.
Believe the troops made it just to the Dnieper River (flows through
Ukraine to the Black Sea) circa 13th c.
