Found this cookbook at a going out of business sale at a local bookstore -- I believe it is written in Czech -- but would welcome any opinions or curiosity. Scroll down for the pertinant info I gleaned from the cover/spine and from the back page. Don't be too jealous, but I got an entire box of books for one buck -- literally it was the last day of the store's business, people were even disassembling the huge bookcases that were bolted together and to the walls, it was a sight to see. Since I've been typing most of my life, I snatched up some vintage typing books -- one published by Gregg in 1926, complete with photographs of old typewriters and proper posture, I plan to display it on my computer desk for a lark. Thanks, Caye

Czechoslovak Socialist States had something to do with putting the book

Found an excellent Hungarian-English-Hungarian dictionary that's been quite helpful so far, but thanks Alice, if I find a recipe I like, I might need help with the proportions. If anyone is curious about whether the book contains any specific recipes, let me know and I'll do some research on the "tartalom" portion over the weekend.

Thanks Alyssa -- I ran a couple of those words through an English Czech English Dictionary and Hungarian did keep popping up. Good to know.

were bolted together and to the walls, it was a sight to see. Since I've

proper posture, I plan to display it on my computer desk for a lark. Thanks,

Translating is a little more difficult than I initially thought (go ahead, some of you may laugh, I suspect you were thinking this all along) . . . but fear not, I soon will have a (partially) translated recipe for Plum Dumplings . . . no mention of yeast in any dumpling recipe in this particular cookbook though. All Hungarian Plum Dumpling recipes I found on the internet call for potatoes as an ingredient, but did not find any that used yeast in the dough. Just didn't want you to think I had forgotten about your inquiry. Caye
