      Records of NY arrivals are available on microfilm at NARA and via loan
      at FHCs.. from 1820 to 1947. It doesn't matter if it was when they were
      left off at the wharf, during Castle Garden years, or Ellis Island.
      The Ellis Island site online only has a short period, but records are
      available from when Congress required them (1820)
