Recently,I have had trouble with pages loading (this is most likely my system at home)

Additionally, they do come up blurred but eventually come in to focus. Some days faster than others....this may be due to connection speeds?

I failed to find a description on the web, but I remember years ago reading how a web site can choose how to send photos, either line by line, where the photo appears in detail and focus at first view, but may take time to load top to bottom.

The other method is to send the general pixels, as it appears you are describing, where the overall fuzzy picture appears and then the 'fill in' pixels are sent to your computer to give the detail that brings it into 'focus'.

Without finding a source giving the proper description, that is the best I can describe it at the moment.

If I remember correctly, Ancestry gave some explanation of that process on viewing their census pages. TOM
