I don't know where you got your (mis)information from but the village is
still on maps and the church records are available at your nearest LDS
        Family History Center.

The small village is located 2.5 km southwest of Ladomerska Vieska.

LDS has Roman Catholic and Evangelical parish registers of baptisms,
marriages, deaths, and confirmations for Hornie Opatovce (Horne Opatowce,
Horne Opatowcze, Horní Opátowce), Slovakia formerly FelsÅ`-Apáthi
        (FelschÅ`-Apáthi, FelsÅ`apáti, Opatdorf), Bars, Hungary.
