              Hi John,

Really all I know at this point is that Anna Kundrat was born 14 October 1875 in Rakocz. That is according to her death certificate, however, her tombstone says 1876 (with no month or date.) Her death certificate lists her father as father as Andrew and her mother is unknown. I'd appreciate anything you can find!

Also, how far is Kurima from Rakocz?

              Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I have a good bit of information on Steve Homza including various censuses, his immigration documents into Baltimore in 1910, his WWI and WWII draft registration cards, details of his death, etc. What I am lacking is information on his wife Mary. You have given me some areas to explore. I appreciate that and will likely be back.

for them. Also have some of their original documents that match the info,
                                  too.

You go with what you have! Right?

Some day the Pope will release all our information......
Some day the Bishops will stop closing churches that Our Grandparents
                                      built!

                                      Sorry...small rant.

Many thanks. Here is another example of what confuses all of us - a misspelled name. In spite of what is shown in the record, the name is Homza, not Hemze.

I found a 1910 census in Blacklick Cambria, PA that I think is him, as John. His father was George Kamerosky born about 1855, mother Anna (Katcer) Kamerosky born about 1861, sister Anna born 1879.
I have Anna's (the sister) petition for naturalization which lists her birth as 26 November, 1879, born in Sobranj Czechoslovakia., her name is spelled Komarovsky.
On her1903 mariage application her name is spelled Annie Kowarsky
George's youngest sister Margaret was born in Barnsboro PA 1906, her marriage license lists her mother as Anna Kameroski (maiden name Kutchor), birth place of mother and father (George and Anna) as Austria Hungary.
                                          Any help greatly appreciated!

Searched the three spellings of your surname in the Slovak 1995 Census. The results:
There were not listings for Katcer or Kutchor.
                                            Kamerosky and Kameroski no listings.
Komarovsky with three spellings, because of the dialect marks, has 9 listings. 8 of which live in the district of Kosice and 7 in the city of Kosice.

The city of Sobrance is in the far eastern portion of Slovakia. It is near a very large man-made lake, Vodna Nadrz Semplinska Sirava. On the modern road atlas the word Komarovce appears on the south side of Sobrance. It may be a village that Sobrance on grown absorbed. Notice the last name is preceded by 1945-1985. So it must have been incorporated into Sobrance in 1985 or 1986. There is also another Komarovce, not that far away and southwest of Kosice. Near the Hungarian border. The nearest large town is Velka Ida. Both towns would have existed at the time you are searching. Since Sobranj was your listed place I would presume the first Komarovce is the one you are looking for.
The obvious is the spelling of your surname and that of the town. I have seen "sky" added to a town name used as a surname. I would say you have a very good lead here.

Which has a small English version, click on the British flag on the Slovak page. The Fotogaleria has an amazing number of photographs.

Located in the Eastern Slovak Lowland not far from the Vihorlat Mountains, it is the easternmost town in Slovakia."
