        Be sure to search the images of the actual registers, and not rely entirely on the indexes published by FamilySearch. The indexing is not completely done by a long shot, and different people will read (and write the index entry) differently and possibly erroneously. If you know your family's village of origin, there's nothing like going through the register yourself and familiarizing yourself with local names, the handwriting of the person(s) writing the records, etc.
