Zemplin - an overview

There is a nice history, a sightseeing section that includes churches
and castles, and a nature section that reviews the geology/geography,
as well as flora and fauna of the region.
From this site: Region of Zemplín borders with Poland on the North,
with Ukraine on the East, with Hungary on the South, with Abov on the
South-West and with ari on the West. It consists of "Dolný Zemplín"
(belongs to the region of Koice) with these districts: Michalovce,
Sobrance, Trebiov; and "Horný Zemplín" (belongs to the region of
Preov) with these districts: Vranov nad Top¾ou, Humenné, Snina,
Medzilaborce. In the past the region was a part of Zemplínska and
My own particular interest is in the towns of Breznica, Stropkov,
Olsava,Turany, Vinne, Sobrance, and Presov environs.
