The Czech & Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois (CSAGSI)
announces its second annual Anton J. Cermak Genealogy Builder Awards. These
awards are presented for exceptional contributions in the genealogical
field, either within the society or in other Czech or Slovak community
organizations or groups.
The 2007 award winners announced by Paul Nemecek, CSAGSI President, are:
member Louise Rokos, member George Rokos, member Evelyn Krenek Fergle, and
Deborah Zeman, former CSA Fraternal Life President.
Louise Rokos is former treasurer and current editor of the CSAGSI Newsletter
while George Rokos, is a director, a former treasurer, and the Special
Projects chairman, producing at least one new CSAGSI publication every year.
Evelyn Krenek Fergle is also a society director.
Deborah Zeman through her position at CSA Fraternal Life (vice-president and
president) has been actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the
Czechoslovak Heritage Museum and Library in Oak Brook, IL. She is the most
knowledgeable and active leader in the preservation and presentation of
Czech and Slovak culture.
