I don't have the Gazetteer handy, but I do know this.
If the primary parish church is located in village in question (usually emboldened), then the place where "affiliated church" is place usually indicates the diocese. In the case of Also-Mislye, the gazetteer indicates it is in the diocese of Kosice.

SEPARATELY Also Csaj is a church affiliated with the main parish church in Also Mislye.

It is in the way the data is presented that has you confused. I am writing a separate web page about it, with examples, that should be available in March.

      Regards,
      Bill Tarkulich

      > I obviously don't have a very good understanding of church structure and records in Slovakia! I have located Nizni Caj (Also Csaj), Abauj-Torna County in the 1877 Gazeteer. The Gazeteer indicates that Roman Catholics appear to be associated with Also-Mislye. I have found Also-Mislye in the Gazeteer also, and it indicates that the Roman Catholics in Also-Mislye were associated with Kassa. My question is the following: Why would the Roman Catholics in Also-Mislye worship in Kassa while those from Also Csaj worship in Also-Mislye? Also-Csaj was probably too small for a church, but why would the gazeteer suggest that Also-Mislye was the location of a R.C. church if the residents of Also-Mislye worshipped in Kassa. Why not all worship in Also-Mislye, or Kassa? I have found similar occurrences for other villages listed in the 1877 Gazeteer. Am I interpreting the information in the gazetter incorrectly? I'm just curious about what ! seem to be circular references. I know that the records for Nizna Mysla (Also-Mislye) are available from LDS. I'll just have to look at them.
