      My grandmother's brother was named Ferdinand, but we called him Uncle Fred. On his birth record his name is listed as
      NANDOR - the Hungarian for Ferdinand. My grandfather is listed as Ferencz, but called Frank, rather than Francis, in
      English, and Franz in Austrian.
