38184Re: understanding marriage records
- Jul 26, 2014
I have down that Anny Slavik Stepanovic . . . married a 25yo Harustak in 1889 when she was33yo. In the space for her parents' names, it said only Martina Stepanovic vonicka vdocs. I wrote this down, hypothesizing that her mother had died, Stepanovic was her maiden name, and that she'd probably been married to a Slavik who'd died.
OK, so I just came across and earlier marriage record that could be her to Martina Stepanovic. In 1877, Martin Stepanovic ovdovdy volnik age 49 (widower?) married Anna Slavik age 23 (if she was born in 1855, this could work), with parents [Jana] Slavik and [Kateriny]
Some of your confusion can be sorted out by looking at the 1869 Hungarian Census for Lubin, found online at:https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-28475-12371-31?cc=1986782&wc=MPP8-ZNL:323642401,324087801
You have some house numbers from the church records.there are 270 house in the census.
SLAVIC/STEPANOVIC Lubina 6 is found at: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-28475-14593-16?cc=1986782&wc=MPP8-ZNL:323642401,324087801
