I am leaving this group.  I hope I have been of help but lately my efforts and the time I have spent have been ignored and I will no longer take the time as I also work on aiding others with their researches.
If anyone has any specific questions you may contact me  on senzus@....

      S Panem Bohem,

      Vilo

I am really glad that you pinpointed the villages. I was just going along the same path on the 1910 Ung Megye map.

That's the good news. Now comes the letdown. Access to the records in Ukraine is a lost cause in my opinion. However, rooting around in a group dedicated to research in Ukraine may prove me wrong.

The relevant governemnt archive is in Uzhorod. zak_archiv@...
The director is (or was) Mykhailo Vasyl'ovych Delehan arhiv_uzh@...

If you ever succeed in accessing any info in the Uzhorod archive, please come back and let us know how you did it. There is a list of us that want some info from the 1869 Hungarian Census, Ung Megye, which is thought to be in his archive.

Good luck -- but don't hold your breath.

      > http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910/ung.jpg This is a map of the Hungarian county of Ung. In the center you will see the city of Ungvar / Uzhorod. There are colored areas, jara, districts within the county. If your villages were just west (left) of Ungvar then you would suspect they might be in jara Ungvar, the yellow area. I donโ€t see any thing close to your spellings. Nor in the brown and green areas. You can go further west into Zemplen County -http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910/zemplen.jpg
