Ellis Island didn’t open until 1892. That means an 1887 arrival would have to be through Castle Gardens. A name search came up with what I sent previously. I looked at all ships arriving during November, 1887 in New York, there were no arrivals on November 24th.

With a discrepancy from 1887 by word of mouth to 1904 in the records, you may have to come up with some other records where Alexander listed his arrival.

We need some help! We have been looking for a ship record for a relative since 2006 with no luck. We recently received a nationalization record that givse a date of arrival in New York, but still we have not find the record. The person was an educated man -- a Greek Catholic cantor from Slovakia -- so we believe that his memory should be reliable. Any ideas?

      NAME: Alexander Kozub
BIRTH: 14 September 1860 in Hungary
ARRIVAL: New York 24th November 1887
DATE OF RECORD: 28 October 1893
