      POSITION OPENING

      Technical Assistance Specialist IV

      The Center for Civic Partnerships, based in Sacramento, seeks an
      individual for a part-time position (26 hours/week) to provide training
      and technical assistance (on-site and distance), statewide, on planning,
      implementation, evaluation and sustainability of local initiatives in
      California Healthy Cities and Communities. Additional responsibilities
      include: participate in the planning and coordination of a statewide
      conference; assist with development of reports and publications; assist
      with recruitment and selection of program participants; assist with
      various aspects of membership program; conduct research on on-going
      program development and implementation; perform other duties as
      assigned.



      QUALIFICATIONS
      Masters degree in public health, community development, urban/regional
      planning, health education, or related field (Bachelor's degree with
      extensive experience can also qualify); minimum 3 years of experience
      preferred providing technical assistance to community-based programs,
      expertise with electronic communications, including e-mail and the World
      Wide Web. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; knowledge
      and skills in community health promotion, sustainability, collaboration,
      community building and public policy. Position also requires travel in
      California, use of own car, valid drivers license and auto liability
      insurance. Starting salary $2,518 per month + DOE (at 26 hours/week),
      plus a comprehensive benefits package. Women and minorities are strongly
