We have the following immediate career opportunity for motivated individuals eager to work in a dynamic environment:
The Transportation Analyst uses ITS and GIS technologies, software development and programming, and application development tools to support studies related to regional economics and economic development, transportation policy, land use analysis, financial analysis and related areas. Specific duties include:
� Analysis of the asset management practices of clients, performing transportation policy analysis, administering relational databases for cataloging transportation assets, and for training/facilitating users with complex analytical software components to assist in the asset management process.
� Using web-development tools (Dreamweaver, Flash MX, and HTML), object-oriented concepts and programs and Java, C/C++, Vehicle-actuated programming (VAP), and Avenue to design and develop web sites.
� Working on traffic operations and impact analysis; intersection level-of-service (LOS) analysis; transit planning and operations studies using transit signal priority (TSP); traffic signal design, synchronization, and optimization; planning and design of freeway operations and management, arterial management, and traffic control systems using the latest ITS technologies including macro- and micro-simulation software (VISSIM, Synchro, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), SimTraffic, Transyt-7F, and Paramics).
� Using planning software such as TransCAD, TP+/Viper, ArcView, ArcIMS, and ArcGIS to analyze the likely impacts and benefits of proposed transportation investments and to design and implement data collection efforts with respect to transportation projects and conduct land use impact studies.
Qualifications/ Required Education: Bachelor�s degree in Civil Engineering (or educational equivalent) required. Qualified applicant will also have strong background working with Traffic Simulation Software, Transportation Planning Software, and GIS technologies, in addition to practical experience with Java and C++ programming.
