Planner - Regional and Corridor Planning Team
The right candidate should be trained in urban planning
geography, be familiar with land use planning and the principles of New
Urbanism, have strong GIS and file management skills, convey geographic
information clearly and be a quick learner. Experience with and
in ArcGIS 8 and ArcView GIS 3 is required and applicants should have
experience working with both shapefiles and grid themes. Experience with
Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst is desired. Writing experience, good
communication skills and familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or Indesign
The planner will work under the direction of a principal
associate as part of the office's regional and corridor planning team.
Typical duties will include work on land use and development scenarios and
planning, public workshop planning and implementation and client
interaction. Duties will also include the preparation of thematic regional
maps for public workshops, analytical maps and GIS coverages for use in
large master planning projects, and grid themes for use in the
analysis of regional scenario plans. Duties will also include writing
reports and analyses. Projects will range from regional and city-scale
planning for public and non-profit clients, to transportation and transit
corridor studies, to master planning projects for private developers.
Salary: depending on experience, with full benefits
