      This is a reminder that this coming Friday, two of our faculty candidates, Karen Lowrie and Zhou Yu, will be on campus and give presentations (see biographical sketches and presentation details below).

      Karen Lowrie received her Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 1995. She has since worked as a project manager for the National Center for Neighborhood and Brownsfield Redevelopment at the E.J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers University . Dr. Lowrie´┐Żs professional interests lie in the fields of environmental planning and policy, land use planning, brownfields redevelopment, public participation and community development.

       

      Zhou Yu expects to receive his Ph.D. in planning from the University of Southern California in August 2004. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of GIS applications in planning, principles of real estate, urban research methodology, housing policy, quantitative methods in planning, population changes and urban growth, demographic analysis in planning, land use planning, land use and market analysis and urban social systems.
