      Economic Development Project Director
      Del Norte County, California

      Position Description:
      The Economic Development Project Director is responsible
      for coordinating
      economic development programs in the county by assessing all current
      activities and devising processes for guiding those activities for maximum
      effectiveness. The Director will work closely with regional industry and
      government agencies to identify the highest priority economic development
      projects and ensure their completion. The Director will assume a key,
      visible role in the community to promote the idea of economic development
      and to champion specific strategies to enhance the economy of Del Norte
      County. Assessment will be results-driven.

      Position Qualifications:
      > Experience leading successful community economic
      development projects
      > Bachelors degree in related field, Master's degree in
      related field
      > Experience working effectively with business, nonprofits,
      local, state and
      federal government
      > Knowledge of rural communities
      > A love of outdoor recreational activities will help

      Position Responsibilities:
      > Successfully plan and implement economic development
      project activities
      > Assess and document existing economic development
      activities in the region
      > Work with government agencies to develop incentives for
      existing and new
      industries and services
      > Communicate effectively with community members to develop
      a cohesive
      approach to economic development
      > Work with existing industry and business to encourage
      growth and
      > Harness the energy of regional business and community
      leaders to create an
      atmosphere where economic growth can grow
      > Develop strategies for identifying and attracting
      industries to the region
      > Manage a staff and budget to accomplish the goals of the
      > Other responsibilities as agreed upon
