      The Position:
      Definition:

      Under the direction of the Redevelopment Division Manager, the Project

      Coordinator coordinates economic and redevelopment functions.


      Examples of Duties: The Redevelopment Project Coordinator coordinates
      the
      planning, analysis, implementation and monitoring of redevelopment
      projects and activities as directed by the Division Manager. Assists
      in
      the preparation and coordination of acquisition of real property and

      relocation of owners and tenants. Prepares appropriate documents for

      action by the Redevelopment Division. Updates existing City economic

      development data and develops efficient methods of maintaining current

      data on real estate trends, employment/training efforts and related
      issues. Works with legal counsel, the Executive Director and
      Developers in
      the preparation of exclusive agreements to negotiate, Owner
      Participation
      Agreements and Disposition and Development Agreements. Provides
      technical
      and professional redevelopment assistance to City staff. Monitors
      state
      and federal legislation relating to redevelopment activities. Assists
      in
      the coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the City's
      First
      Source Hiring and Local Business Enterprise programs including
      interfacing
      with contractors, retailers, job-training programs, and various
      individuals.


      Requirements: Successful candidates will have a good command of
      computer
      skills, good oral and written skills, are highly quantitative and
      analytical, and posses a good command of the Spanish language is
      highly
      desirable.


      Qualifications: Knowledge of preparation of technical reports,
      financial
      feasibility analysis, real estate documents, pro formas and the
      ability to
      evaluate development proposals and contracts prepared by private
      properties.

      Ability to collect, compile, analyze and interpret data, evaluate
      complex
      problems and develop a positive course of action, exercise sound and

      professional judgment, prepare clear and concise reports, read,
      comprehend
      and interpret rules and regulations regarding governmental operations,

      communicate effectively both orally and in writing, apply information

      system technology to a variety of different issues, and establish
      effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of

      work.

      Education

      Bachelors Degree in City Planning, Public Policy, Administration,
      Business
      or related field is required. A Masters Degree in these disciplines is

      preferred.

      Experience

      Three to five years of project management experience in the fields of

      planning, policy, economic or redevelopment in either the public,
      private
      or non-profit sectors.

      License

      Must possess and maintain a valid California
      Driver's License.

      most relevant qualifications will be invited to an oral interview,
      which
      may include a written exam and/or practical exam.

      SALARY AND BENEFITS:

      Salary is currently under review

      Salary range: $4,771 ? $5,799/mo., DOQ.

      Employee paid CalPERS retirement 2% at 60.

      Employer paid medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability.


      12 paid holidays and 80 hours of vacation leave after one year of
      employment.
