World Town Planning Day
World Town Planning Day will be celebrated in 30 countries on four
continents on November 8, 2003. The international organization for WTPD
was founded in 1949 by the late Professor Carlos Maria della Paolera of
the University of Buenos Aires to advance public and professional interest
in planning both locally and abroad. It is a special day to recognize and
promote the role of planning in creating livable communities.
Top Three Reasons to plan a WTPD event on or near November 8: Education --
educate all of the members of your community about planning's positive
impacts on community livability; Celebrate -- celebrate all of the people
and the planning that give your community a sense of place where you are
proud to live and work; Recognition -- honor all of the people involved in
the planning process.
