Summer Intern Opportunities (Work Experience Only/Unpaid)
10-20 hours per week
The Town of Los Gatos is currently seeking interns to assist Town departments in special projects and programs. Interns will have a hands-on opportunity to learn the inner workings of a Town Department and gain exposure to a wide variety of programs and services while serving the Los Gatos community.
Potential areas include but are not limited to:
Town Manager's Office
Parks and Public Works Administration
Interested candidates will have a passion for becoming a Professional in a government setting and have a demonstrated strong academic performance and professional drive. We are seeking candidates who have excellent analytical skills, focus on results, the ability to articulate complex ideas and problem solve. Candidates must also demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly assess problems and find workable solutions. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage projects in an environment that is fast paced and highly dynamic.
Applicants should be currently enrolled at a University or Community College or be a recent college graduate with an emphasis in Political Science, Law, Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Business, Human Resources or other closely related fields. The intern positions are available during college summer breaks and run approximately 12 weeks between June September 2013. You must be available 10-20 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on the assignment.
