      > Full time AMERICORPS Positions -- September 2012 through early August 2013
      > (must be available for the entire term or service)
      > AmeriCorps service positions ($15,000 stipend/$5,500 ed award)
      > Our City Forest is a non-profit urban forestry and environmental action organization. The focus of this program is to organize neighborhood and school tree care and tree planting projects, promote environmental education, and recruit and train volunteers. During this year of service, AmeriCorps members will directly contribute to the mission of creating a greener and healthier community.
      > Field Specialists: The field team will lead community outreach efforts and organize tree planting & tree care projects with residents. They will train, supervise, and coach volunteers, receive tree deliveries, plant trees in neighborhoods, schools and parks, provide basic tree care to OCF trees, and perform detailed data entry. Some members of this team will work exclusively at the OCF community nursery, cultivating and caring for young trees. The technical training and experience gained will help make members eligible for arborist certification (individuals will need additional education and/or experience for certification).
      > Nursery Inventory Technician: The nursery inventory technician will be responsible for maintaining an accurate tree and production inventory of the OCF community nursery. They will conduct field data collection of tree deliveries, shipments, and production status. Specific duties include inputting field data into a custom nursery inventory software program, generating weekly availability reports, and coordinating tree order processing with the nursery team. Candidate should have some experience with inventory and/or accounting software and processes. Knowledge of plants, previous nursery experience, and/or horticulture coursework is also a huge plus.
      > Customer Service Planting Specialists: Members of this team will be responsible for coordinating the distribution of trees to individual residents or seniors receiving planting services. Duties entail mostly office work, such as providing customer service and information to community members via phone and email. They will process project applications, obtain planting permits, perform data entry, schedule work, and perform a weekly educational demonstration for tree recipients.
